A WALK ON THE MOON at the Laura Pels Theatre on W 46th Street.

My injured back forced me to miss the opening performances, so I caught this one on the heavily wet Sat mat of July 19th, where a goodly group of us joined up to witness a lively performance featuring a first rate cast. I thank the management for maintaining opening night freshness for our audience which began the performance when we were still wet from the rain.

All went well from the start and the next two hours revealed a company of excellent merit, so we all had a fine time as we watched this delightful light comedy fully reveal itself. Andréa Burns, an attractive leading lady, made herself transfer into an older middle aged relation whose body, voice, and persona turned in an instant into a new character entirely, who took us along with her for our delight and surprise. She also eased our way into the rest of the plot, which was considerable, and revealed new characters and new story line which convinced us this was a light comedy of merit, one worth our full attention.
